Norene Beatrice Peterson

Norene Beatrice Peterson, 90, of Boise, died at home Sunday, July 19, 2009, of natural causes.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2009, at Dry Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be held and the family will greet friends at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Thursday, July 23, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Norene was born on Nov. 3, 1918, in Hailey, Idaho, the daughter of Carl and Viola Williams Nisson. She grew up in the Hailey area, graduating from high school there. On Sept. 29, 1936, she married Melvin Peterson in Shoshone, Idaho. They lived in Hailey and surrounding areas until 1965, when they moved to Boise.

Norene was a homemaker and provided a wonderful home for her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Viola Martin, and her husband, Ray (Bud); grandson, Melvin, and his wife, Diane; three great grandchildren, Steven, Elizabeth and Natalie; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Delores Nisson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, on Sept. 22, 1997; her parents; and two brothers, Bill and Norman.
