People and Places


Bellevue's Tyson Reynoso graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Mass., with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering May 17. A graduate of Hailey's Wood River High School and an outstanding college football player at Tufts, Reynoso also graduated summa cum laude at his college and was named to the spring semester dean's list.

Ashley Boand of Sun Valley, a 2007 graduate of Hailey's Wood River High School, was accepted this spring into the landscape architecture program at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Ashley was one of only 13 students to be accepted into the program. The landscape architecture program at Oregon is a five-year degree and is accredited by the American Society of Landscape Architects. She was awarded the University of Oregon Dean's Scholarship, a four-year academic scholarship, upon entering her freshman year.

She is the daughter of Blair and Suzanne Boand.

Robert Pietrafesa of Ketchum, son of Mr. Robert E. Pietrafesa II, was among 232 seniors at Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Conn., to graduate at the school's 119th commencement June 7. Pietrafesa will attend University of St. Andrews in the fall. Choate Rosemary Hall is an independent secondary school with 850 boarding and day students from 41 states and 33 countries.

Ketchum resident Torin Tucker, an honors student at The Community School and member of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation Nordic Comp Team, just returned to Ketchum after serving a term as a U.S. congressional page in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Rep. Mike Simpson (R-Idaho) nominated Tucker for the appointment. Students who have completed their junior year of high school are eligible to apply to serve as pages and are selected based on merit. Pages live on Capitol Hill in the Page Residence and attend Page School at the U.S. Library of Congress. They study U.S. government and history, and work on the floor of the House.

Dean's List (3.4 GPA and above) students in the Tufts University School of Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering for spring 2009 included class of 2010 member Sigrid Fostvedt of Ketchum and class of 2012 member Christian Dallago, also of Ketchum.
